Job Description

Our client, a global IT shared services company, requires a Desktop Support Engineer for a corporate office (VIP user support). This is a 1 year temporary contract based in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational support for a number of IT services.
  • Assist offshore resources with operational support of IT services.
  • Constantly monitor and report on IT services to all stakeholders
  • Ensure services are compliant with, and provide reports to IT Team Leader.
  • Provide 3rd line troubleshooting and support for Operations of IT Services
  • Implement and manage changes and updates to meet agreed SLAs
  • Act as primary liaison and management of external vendors for all related support issues.
  • Perform required maintenance on IT services including regular updates.
  • Provide technical advice to project teams for projects relating to IT services.
  • Ensure IT Server Infrastructure meets agreed SLAs for performance and availability.
  • Ensure IT Server Infrastructure meets defined customer Information Security Policies and Standards.
  • Develop IT services per customer.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Previous experience in ensuring security of data, network access and backup system
  • Ability to act in alignment with user needs and system Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Ability to identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Experience in auditing systems and assessing their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of complex information and requirements
  • Good prioritization skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans
  • Great IT skills combined with a good head for business
  • Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting Windows 10 issues
  • Experience in resolving MS Office, O365, Adobe reader, Network Printer, Network folder, scanner related issues.
  • Very good communication skills in written and verbal English to support VIP users across the UK
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues in mobile devices (Andriod, iphone, Blackberry)
  • Experience in coordinating with other tower teams, onsite team to resolve issues.
  • Assist end users to take backup of data, AV / patch update on end machines
  • Assist Image engineering team in roll out of new images
  • Experience in IMAC support
  • Take Remote desktop session using LAPS and resolve the issues
  • Experience in creating new image, software packages and roll out the same using MS SCCM
  • Manage and maintain existing OS / Software images
  • Experience in conducting performance and functional testing on supported end user devices and images in test environment.
  • Documentation of test results.
  • Experience in providing virus protection for support environment
  • Build new release packages and schedule the roll out as per customer requirement
  • Verification of new release, upgrades and patches were installed correctly
  • Strong experience in Lync 2010/2013 like Lync Mobile, Lync Enterprise Voice, Lync audio/video/data conferencing,
  • Support hybrid Lync deployment using Lync onsite and Lync in O365
  • Good knowledge in Active Directory, PKI, Windows Server 2008/2012, SQL 2008/2012, SCOM 2012 and SCCM
  • Basic knowledge of VoIP gateways like Routers, Gateways, and IP PBXs
  • Good Work Experience and understanding of various Codecs (G.711, G.723, G.729 etc) and VoIP technology
